What if you’ve become so fucking good at suffering that you don’t actually know how to enjoy your life?

Welcome to the first episode of It Is That Deep, where we’re starting with a very Eastern European love language: sacrifice, struggle and being the woman who can handle absolutely everything.

I’m talking about the women who raised us, the unspoken rules about being a good woman, and why joy somehow ended up at the very bottom of the priority list.

From internalised misogyny and mothering grown adults to the strange discomfort of receiving help, being soft or simply having nothing to fix, we’re getting into the identities we inherit and the nervous-system patterns that keep us playing by rules we no longer believe in.

With some dark humour, personal stories and a healthy amount of questioning everything, we’re exploring what it means to stop treating suffering as a badge of honour.

Because maybe the most rebellious thing an Eastern European woman can do isn’t work harder, achieve more or hold everything together.

Maybe it’s enjoy her fucking life. And yes, it really is that deep.

I’m Ola Kowalska, a Polish woman living in the UK, a PDA mum, business owner and somatic identity coach.

After building a six-figure coaching business and becoming exceptionally good at achieving things (and burning myself out in the process), I started questioning how much of what I called my personality was actually a collection of survival patterns.

Now I help ambitious, highly capable women expand their capacity to enjoy the lives they’re working so fucking hard to build.

On It Is That Deep, I bring you personal stories, dark humour and honest conversations about identity, ambition, womanhood and all the shit we thought was just who we are.
