APRIL 2025

Questions from today:

Erin 0:12

Gonna do a not so heavy, casual launch of a lexical approach course just to see if I get any bites. I always get bogged down in social media at this point. Any advice?

Marichka  0:16

Maybe I just need a short feedback to my message: "I help European foreign artists
to connect with Ukrainian artists and express themselves comfortably in Ukrainian language. In my two-month program I'm creating an inspiring environment for shared creativity, kind feedbacks and intellectual discussions using the Ukrainian language as a unifying thread".

Eliza  0:18

I’m stuck trying to move forward with my offer. I want to create a program focused on spoken French, mindset, culture, and self-expression – not exam prep or business language. But I keep hearing: “People only pay for practical things.” Especially in the Polish market. Now I’m doubting whether my ideal client even exists… How do I trust my client exists and will value this approach? If you were me, what would you double down on? 😊

Clara 0:27

On social media: do you recommend writing the mission in the bio or something else?
It depends on the social media?

Ewa 0:31

How often should we post on FB to be effective, but also active enough, and should it be more learning materials or future offers related info - or both? Is it worth to offer courses on FB (link to our calendar) before we create our website?

Gabriela 0:37

My new course is aimed at the creative industry – do you think it’s a good direction? Do you think the course will be “sellable” if I develop the right marketing strategy based on testimonials from well-known people who have already trusted me?
And question number two – is the course title “Say It Like You Mean It. English for creative professionals who want to speak clearly, confidently and in their own style.” catchy enough to grab their attention?

Nikkki 0:47

How important is the survey? I interviewed people about when they speak Dutch/English and what holds them back for my thesis. What other info will this survey get me?

Ali 0:54

Hi! I won’t be able to join the call because I’m currently in LA and will be asleep during the session — but I’d love to submit two questions:

1) Social media & audience clarity
How much of our social presence should directly reflect who we’re for? For example, should my display name say something like “Ali | English Coach for Korean Women”? Should bios or content include Korean (or their native language) for clarity, SEO, or better connection? And when it comes to captions, subtitles, or CTAs — is it better to keep everything in English, or include some bilingual elements?

2) Pricing/curriculum examples from Rocket alumni
Would it be possible to get a sense of how much past Rocket grads have charged for their courses? Seeing more real examples, especially across different audiences or course types, would help me feel more confident pricing my own offer! I loved seeing your course spreadsheet and would be so excited if there are more examples to look through 🙏

I am thinking of beta-testing for my group course as a series of free workshops. So I would test and collect emails at the same time. Does that make sence? Or should they be paid? But as it is just as easy to sell something cheap as something expensive and I don´t have that big following... Or do I pick just a part and sell f.eks 3-week course? I don´t want to sell and beta-test whole 10-weeks course, as I also need to concentrate on marketing and so on.

Sima  1:28

We had this discussion on Circle with one of the Rocketers( I forgot her name) about asking about the rate in a poll on IG. I thought it's not a good idea to ask in IG and it's better if we ask during the interview or even in market research. I also remember in videos you mentioned it's not a good idea to ask in market research. So now things are kind of confusing. Choosing the rate

Questions from today:

Ewa 0:28

1. Should I prepare separate survey for people who never tried learning Polish, but they think about it - and for those who has been learning for some time?
2. Is it fine to contact people, who I used to teach, but in the institution, not privately? Would it be ethical to use their e-mail addresses? I would like to know your opinion.

Kristen 0:30

I noticed the questions in the sample survey have a lot to do with the learners experience with different courses and learning methods. However, my target audience is newbies, the most they've ever done is maybe watched some videos on social media and/or used an app like Duolingo. How can I adapt my survey questions to them?

Clara 0:34

How do I break the ice on my inactive newsletter and social media?

Ellajaz 1:06

1. I want to work out my branding so I can start posting on social media. How do I do this?

2. Is it a bad idea to try to launch 2 courses at once?

Becca 1:14

When various people seem to be aiming for the same niche (in my case, clients with blocks to speaking the language they know, confidence issues) how do we manage this within the RA community without stepping on toes or unwittingly creating an unpleasant sense of competition?

( I have no experience in this, and autisitically don't know if there are any social protocols, )

like
Is it a no-go and we each need an original and unique niche?
or
Do similar niches band together but deliberately try to differenciate??
Or what?

I don't want to leap in, not understand the rules, and alienate myself from the offset! Or tiptoe around when it's not actually necessary.

Daniela Hummelgren 1:21

I need to start attracting people interested in the course (and getting them on the newsletter), but also rigth now I need a few new 1:1 students. How do I do that? What calls to actions do I have (I don´t think I am launching before the summer as I was dreaming about last week

Questions from today:

Anaheli 1:42

1. Validate my offer.

Ola, here's my question. I'm not sure how much I need to share of the outline with the people I will be talking to. I already have two people in mind, and I'm writing what I want to share and I have a lot of doubts about what to share.

How specific do I need to be?
Of course, the details of the course (hybrid, 12 weeks, 6 live sessions, pre-recorded lessons, 6 people per group, etc.)

And the modules, overall aims, content. (but how deep?)

And that's it? Or is it better to share the benefits?

I'm lost in which part of this is the brocoli, which the chocolate? jaja
Am I overthinking (again)?

Sylwia 1:46

How spend less time for preparing lessons and have more time for working on my business

Ruth 1:51

No questions really, but I know I'm being too perfectionist about the freebie, I'm spending way too long on it. But I enjoyed it.

Questions from today:

Brendan Cochrane

when did you start creating content /videos. Did this come naturally?
Should my website be in English or language of residence?
Cold calling potential clients. How, who and what was your strategy?
Was this before you had your payment gateways setup
My idea of creating courses for Professionals in the logistics industry is going to look very different to your Rocket Accelerator course. Or will it? I cant get my head around how I'm going to design the course. My students wont be creating anything they`ll be learning. I'm having a hard time getting these concepts into my head, the similarities of The Rocket Accelerator course for example and the course I`ll need to build but teach. While there are similarities there are also huge differences in models.
Re intake Jan 25. Is it just myself and Kasia? How does body doubling work in this case. Or does this happen in the Richer Techers Circle? I don't see any scheduled meetups there.
Thanks Ola. See you tomorrow at 1900h CET
